Do you know the Foundation for the Protection of Animals Curaçao? Allow us to kindly introduce ourselves. The name says it all; our objective is to bring about a better life for all animals on our island. Beside the daily exploitation of the Animal Shelter we try to accomplish this with our spay & neuter projects, the animal ambulance, managing complaints concerning neglect and/or abuse of animals and our education programs to the youth of Curaçao.

Behind the baffles of this paradise, Curaçao, - with its palms, its splendid beaches, its great nightlife and always temperate weather there is a drama unfolding. Suffering, of which many people are not aware of or simply are not informed of. At the Animal Shelter many surrendered animals arrive. Frequently maltreated and undernourished, with wounded necks due to ingrown collars, strangled due to a life on short chains and/or simply beaten and given up on life because they have lived locked up for years inside small cages.

These animals are often sick, and because the owner does not want to pay or cannot pay for medical help, they are left behind, abandoned with a sad outcome of huge numbers of stray animals. Some are dumped during the night over the fence of the Animal Shelter. Often its due to an insignificant reason but with a significant outcome for the concerning animal. An outcome of life or dead. Animals for which our aid arrives too late must be released from their suffering.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. We do not want to annoy you with facts and figures, but if you are interested you can find this information on our website in activity overview 2009. The Foundation for the Protection of Animals Curaçao is doing everything to improve the situation, but to achieve it all we need funds, and lots of it. Last year rendered a big financial loss, while the costs of food, medication, staff and maintenance show an increasing trend.

This is why we kindly ask you to support our work with a one time or if possible a periodic donation. The animals of Curaçao are reliant on donors and sponsors and we truly hope that you would help us, help them with a worthy life.

Yes ppl are being murdered and starved to death... generally by other ppl, and it's ppl once again doin this to these animals.
