The Entertainer is one of Scott Joplin's most well known and popular rags. I play it in God's own tuning, the bass E tuned down to D.

  • this is the best guitar version of The Entertainer ever. THANK YOU

  • I'm not great with using Youtube in terms of where to respond to what, so I'm repeating an answer to you re: getting tabs. If you send me your email address, I'll send you attachments with music and tabs. If you can open them OK, then send me a check to Paul Lolax at 800 Main St, box 203, Holden, Mass, 01520. Enjoy.

  • Amazing... I started to practice this arrangement with my dad when I was 8, from your "selected works of scott joplin" book! This is great to see you. Keep posting some new videos (why not mapple leaf rag?).

  • Good question--why not maple leaf rag? I'll get crackin' on it. I haven't touched it in many moons.

Let me know if you want to be on my guitar contacts. I'll notify you of new videos and whatever else I do guitar-wise.

  • this is so beautyfull!

  • Hi! I also play this song with this transcription, I bought the book 20 years ago. PLease post maple leaf rag (the other one I plaid.) thanks for all the stuff!

  • Dear Mr. Lolax,

It's a treat to hear and see this performed by you. I'm working with a tattered copy

of your Scott Joplin book that I've had for over 30 years. Like janschophile, I've lost the little floppy record, so this is a wonderful opportunity to be inspired by your

    playing. Thank you!

  • Hello Mister Lolax, oh thats a very good guitar arrangement and playing by You sir. This Ragtime tablature book from You is absolut, but now i can not find it in my chaos in moment. I think there was also the version of champagner rag and brings wals.... In Your book there are also good comments and so... very thanks for this mister.

  • reminds me of Leo Wijnkamp's arrangement of 1974 he also did in Drop D,

but your arr. is more full to the bass notes - nice!

  • I really like your performance of this. It's a big help to me in learning the piece. I'm getting to like dropped D tuning too.

  • WELL DONE!

  • this is the original guitar version! well done!

  • is that jigsaw playing guitar?
