1st line, your gonna wanna pour a little bit into the gentleman or lady who has purchased the bottle... What..
why does expert village always suck!?
-
i will never drink wine just because of the pretentiousness
-
Right...
1. Hold the bottle by the base, if confident enough, pace your thumb in the indent in the base.
2. The customer isn't trying to taste the wine to see if they like it, they're trying it to see if it's corked or not.
3. As you approach the table, show the label to the buyer to confirm their purchase, and then proceed to remove the cork.
4. When asking if the customer would like to sample the wine, only a little bit is required, not as much as shown in this video.
5. Pour the wine slowly.

can anybody help me? i started working as a butler, i think i'm good at it and i do have the right personallity and disposition for the job. my issue is that i am left-handed, therefore i cannot follow the rules of pouring wine with my right hand without making a mess ... i'm great with my left-hand for doing this and everything else. is it still frowned not to do EVERYTHING with the right hand? i like my job but i am getting anxious about this thing. does any one has a similar history to share?

thats a sequence of service for all servers to provide and exceed the needs of customers.
you are supposed to twist the bottle so it doesn't drip on the table or down the side of the bottle. You are also supposed to present the bottle to the person who ordered the bottle before opening, then open at the table, then you do the tasting and the label should always face the guest as you are pouring. This girl is lame, I have served for 20 years and would NEVER serve wine like this!
