Finally getting around to firing up the egg-bot again!

This ping pong ball has to be the lowest quality product I've even seen, let alone tried to use. However, for $0.10 apiece, it's hard to argue against them for trying out small designs. I'm still greatly looking forward to receiving nearly 200 high quality balls though... at a mere $0.20 each.

This particular image was also my first attempt at tracing a bitmap and then recreating the fill using Inkscape's hatch path-effect. For the source, I literally just used the first image-search result for "arenanet". :P

If you'll notice, the egg-bot plugin's TSP solver really goofed up on when to draw the "T". Oh well!

I'm hoping to move on to the GW2 logo soon, or maybe some profession icons. Maybe I'll get adventurous and try stippling or freehand designs. :)

  • I bought 144 blank GOGO balls off of Amazon for ~$0.25 a piece. Just make sure to order the white ones if you intend to draw on them. :)

If you google "144 blank ping pong balls", either it or something similar should be the first hit.
