Intro

Verse 1
Woke up this morning from the strangest dream
I was in the biggest army the world had ever seen
We were marching as one on the road to the holy grail

Verse 2
Started out seeking fortune and glory
It's a short song but it's one hell of a story
When you spend your lifetime trying to get your hands on the holy grail

Verse 3
Well have you heard about the great crusade
We ran into millions but nobody got paid
We raised four corners of the globe for the holy grail

Verse 4
All the locals scattered, they were hiding in the snow
We were so far from home so how were we to know
There'd be nothing left to plunder when we stumbled on the holy grail

Verse 5
We were full of beans, but we were dying like flies
Those big black birds, they were circling in the sky
And you know what they say, no body deserves to die

Bridge/Trumpet Solo
But I I've been searching for an easy way
To escape the cold light of day
I've been high and I've been low
But I got nowhere else to go
Theres nowhere else to go

Verse 6
I followed orders God knows where I've been
But I woke up alone all my wounds were clean
I'm still here I'm still a fool for the holy grail

Outro

  • this helped me and i hate doing barre cords so thanks :)

  • No problem, thanks for hte comment

  • If you look at the live version done By Hunters And Collectors it is made a lot simpler by putting the Cappo on the 4th (as posted by roadofrarotonga )

    C-F-Am-G verses 1,2 and 4 and outro

    and

    F-Am-G verses 3 and 5

  • The problem with that is you don't get the nice sound with the muted strums but yes that is a much easier way for a beginner to play it.

  • the trumpeter (jack howard) is a music teacher at my school.

    great tutorial, thanks

  • Cool, glad you liked it!!!
