@julieification: Where do the numbers 666 1st appear? I am not a talking about Revelations, I am talking about where they appear in the OT. The original citation gives you clues for interpretting what is said in Revelations. All the complex of symbols in Revelations are very much rooted in the Jewish traditions, w/o understanding them, you can't understand Revelations.

@julieification: Mebbe, I doubt it. You do know that the interpretive tradition you are advocating has only existed for about 150yrs.? The OT prophecies of Jerusalem's end refer to the original exile under Nebuchadnezzar. The 2nd, under Roman Emperor Titus, is only referenced derivatively. Revelations simply takes the 2ndy meaning of the OT prophecies & makes it explicite by using the OT language to reference the Roman-Jewish War. Revelations was fulfilled in 70 AD.

Jesus Christ will intervene and save her at the end of the "Tribulation".  It will last 7 years. Before He comes to save Israel, 2/3 of the Jews will die (Zecharia).
