Not Barack Obama

Who co-sponsored a bill back in 2006 that would have helped us avoid the Freddie Mac / Fannie Mae trouble we're now paying for? Not Barack Obama! Google: "S. 190"

Good question. I think McCain missed some excellent opportunities in the 1st debate to bring this up... Obama tried to act like he warned of the crisis since he became a senator but it's not part of the congressional record like this is. Perhaps it'll come up in future debates.

It's great to see this medium used to bring TRUTH to the public. This cuts right thru all the bs blaming that's going on. We need more straight FACTS like this.

Blame the Democrats for this? Republican's controlled Congress, the Senate and the White House when this bill was introduced.

The bill didn't get out of committee for a full vote. The chair of the committee was a Republican, Hagel.

Hagel isn't running for President.

I'm sure this bill didn't get out of committee because of the fear of filibuster. The Dems threated that a lot during the the last congress. These last 8 years have been horribly partisan.
