Royal Sikkim

A look at the royals of the former Kingdom of Sikkim. The kings (chogyal) are shown from Thutob Namgyal to Tenzing who is the heir of the last independent King of Sikkim, Palden Thondup Namgyal. He made headlines for his second marriage to the American Hope Cooke. It was during his reign that Sikkim was occupied and annexed by the Republic of India. As an Indian state, only Goa is smaller. Guru Rinpoche is credited with introducing Buddhism to Sikkim and is the national patron saint.

Yes, Sikkim should be an independent state, because India forcefully invaded Sikkim. Sikkim has its distint culture, language, history, was functioned as an independent state. Long live Sikkim and long live Choegyal Wangchuk Namgyal.

@matheona Sikkim need not be ruled under India. Look at example of Nepal. Nepal is culturally independent nation with it's own sovereign.
