  • ahh the classic video, 5 minutes later the brakes failed and the landrover hit a tree then rolled down into a cliff and burst into flames

  • Dont be DAFT.... It's a Land rover, and an ENGLISH Film. Cars dont burst into flames in english films.... the producers cant afford to waste them!

It got 3/4 of a mile down the road and conked out with an unidentifiable electrical problem!

  • Any one know where I can down load this gem?

  • @cj45629 The one problem with having some many gadgets is if you are in the middle of no ware and an one of the hundreds of ECUs goes you have had it, with a land rover you just take a few spares and a roll of duck-tape and you can fix most things. Thats why the army still uses them.

  • @cj45629 firstly my farther owns a farm (hence buying me a land rover) and it has towed trailers twice its weight limit, also I do take it wading sometimes. 70% of all land rovers are still on the road, and I am not saying jap cars aren't reliable but British cars have a reputation for being very unreliable and I have always thought my old landy was the one exception.

  • @WaterCottage Bingo! Even limited slip would be nice. Not to mention traction control. Hill descent brakes. Hill take off brakes. My Nissan has all those things and a lot more including full skid plates, big tires, and an engine that will push it from 0-60 in 7 seconds. That LR won't go anywhere near 60. Anyone that thinks those old trucks are still top notch just isn't paying attention. We had a Willy's Jeep in the late 1950's. It was great for it's time. But that time has long gone.

  • @syncmaster710n14 My brother has a Toyota that he's been driving 25 years and it still goes great. And he actually took it off road too. Don't tell me a Japanese car isn't better than a LR when it comes to durability and reliability. In Cuba that still drive '57 Chevy's too. That doesn't prove anything except they can't get new cars.

  • Land Rover best? LOL No limited slip No locking differential No articulation. That thing is a joke compared to a modern ORV including LR's.. Those LR's were good for their time but that time was 1950. They don't even have 4wd in high range. Grocery hauling CUV's have that. My Nissan Pro-4X is WAY better off road than that LR. Top speed on that LR was probably about 40 mph. LR's as old as that one are antiques. And we haven't even started into wheel size, gas mileage, and reliability.

  • I have a 1976 land rover sires 3 , that my dad bought me as a first car in 1988, I decided that I would run that car till it would run no more as i don't want to waste money on car as I wanted to go to university. Anyway 23 years and a engineering degree later I still have it and it is still going. I mean all my mates with there German and Japanese cars telling me that it was not going to last a week before blowing a head gasket or having an electrical issue and it out last all of there cars.

  • we sill have ours we got new in 1974 still on the original engine gearbox chassis bulkhead ok it has paches but it has NEVER broken down and pulled out more jap crap and pulled them home then i had hot dinners keep all your jap 4x4s i will stick to my landy

  • At 2:30 it would be nice to be able to lock the differentials.

  • This is great! Where do I dont load this?
