Miley gasped and turned toward another direction. She felt her nerves creeping all over her body again and quickly gathered herself together. She grabbed an appetizer from an incoming waiter and stuffed it into her mouth.
Nick caught Miley's wrist as she was about to walk off. "Can we talk?" He asked.
Miley chewed, the sound of cracker blocking out what Nick was saying. She tugged her wrist out of his hand and took a step back. She swallowed the dressed-up cracker. "What do you want?"
"It's been months since we've talked . . . since we've seen each other. You look beautiful." His eyes moved over her petite, yet curvy body and then locked gazes with her again.
"Stop." Miley hissed and shook her head. "If you don't remember, there's a reason why we haven't talked or seen each other, Nick. It's because you and Selena threatened to call the police if I ever came near you."
Nick immediately noticed the hurt shimmer in her diamond blue orbs. "I shouldn't have said that to you. I was just angry and I let my words get the best of me."
"You broke up with me for the second time that night and we hadn't even made up yet or gotten back together. If you could excuse me, I have to get back to my date." Miley whispered and tried to move past Nick, but he continued to block her way.
"You can't actually like him, do you?" Nick asked.
Miley looked up at him, her stare ice cold. "Who are you to question who I can or can't like, Nick?" She asked with a hiss. "If you can't get the message, I don't love you anymore."
Nick moved out of her way when she walked past him without a glance back. His heart felt heavy, like he had punched in the chest. He took another two flutes from a walking waiter and settled back on the leather couches. "Could I get a couple more glasses over here?" He asked the waiter and let his gaze fall on the back of Miley's head.
"Sorry I took so long." Miley plastered a smile across her face.
Justin's arm wrapped around her waist and he kissed her cheek. "What's the matter?"
"What?" Miley asked, looking up at him.
"You're smiling, but it doesn't really reach your eyes. Did something happen on the way to the bathroom or something?" His eyes moved away from hers to someone behind her.
Miley didn't bother to turn around. She knew exactly who Justin was staring at and she couldn't find enough courage to see if Nick was staring back.

Nick couldn't move his eyes away from Justin's hand that ran low against Miley's butt. He took another swig of alcohol, ignoring the coos of drunken co-workers trying to squeeze themselves onto the couch with him.
His eyes followed Miley's body as she walked out into the balcony with Justin. He stood and sifted through the crowd, talking and mingling to a few people. His eyes always moved to where Miley and Justin were at last. But as his eyes dragged over to where the balcony was, where Miley had been laughing at something Justin had said, they weren't there anymore.

i'm really happy for miley. i hope she doesn't take nick back (or at least not easily). what he did was truly unforgivable and she might actually have a chance of happiness with justin. i don't feel sorry for nick because it's his own fault haha.

Next one! looks like Miley and Justin have left the party lool, in a way i feel sorry for Nick but it's his fault: he can't continue to live a lie, he has to choose who he really wants
