A 21st Century Spirituality that represents the next level of growth asks that we embrace the shadow, that we face the realities of death, suffering and injustice in an honest way. When we do this a lot of the speculative metaphysical beliefs can be clearly seen as ways of rationalizing and denying what we don't like about reality. Getting more grounded spiritually means that we start to learn to sit more compassionately and courageously with reality as it is - thus setting ourselves free from not only our fears but also the ways we try and distort reality to hide from those fears...

  • good and bad are just words used to train you.

  • Great...authentic spirituality...I like your definition. You put into words the journey I've been on to come to terms with suffering and evil in life. We all want simple answers but it is truly a "mystery".

“God is the name by which I designate all things which cross my path violently and recklessly, all things which alter my plans and intentions, and change the course of my life, for better or for worse.” Carl Gustav Jung quote

  • Excellent. Both lucid and honest. Favorited

  • People choose where to be born according to many sources. So if they're born into suffering they have chosen that for whatever reason, although it may seem undesirable from a Western standpoint... but to say that it's unfair seems strange to me.. I don't know if you can feel compassion at the same time as you think someone is being treated unfairly by life... since we're all one anyone's experience is our experience, right?

  • So did David block you? If so I can straighten it out. But I get what you're saying. I tried to respond on my other video and you tube ate it! Happens to me all the time!

  • I put my answer here because this other guy blocked me (good respect of freedom of speech)

If you expand the comment section, you will see that my comment did not address to the JWL (the guy who blocked me) but the Atheist Antidote.
