As you can see once the boost gauge gets up to the end you can start hearing the car shake and make noises. Near the end of the video you can see the check engine light flashing. Once the light stops flashing it does not remain on.

  • It's your ignition coil, go to any auto store that does a free scan and find out which cylinder is mis-firing and then replace that cylinder's coil. I have the same car that had the same problem till i fixed it yesterday. Part costs about 100 dollars and took 5 min to fix.

  • Your right, but at first I was getting a random misfire code. So I couldn't know which one was bad. Finally I found the problem was worse when the car was first started. So one day i cleared the codes, started the car took off and floored it. Almost instantly I got the flashing CEL... but this time it told me which cylinder... replaced same as you all is good

  • the turbo bring problem

turbo not for long time life

  • ... seriously... even if not its well worth it!

  • i don't see a boost gauge in my saab 9-3 linear , does the linear version has a boost gauge ?

  • Umm as far as I know 2003+ 9-3's have boost gauges.... but If you don't see one I guess not... I really don't know for sure, I'd have to see a picture of your gauge cluster.

  • @Dachande23

no u can replace individual coils in 2003 saab 9.3 im sure for that year

  • man, i have the same problem in my 2003 9.3 arc.... i love my car little problems and all.

  • i have the 03 and had the same problem, its your boost sensor, and there are two of them....they are black and each have three hoses going to them. one is on the hose to the turbo and the other is on the hose to the throttle, change those and problem solved

  • Don't saabs have ignition cassettes? You can't replace an individual coil, you have to get like a 5oo dollar cassette, right?

  • Bad coils

  • I had the same problem with my 2003 93 Aero (UK). I even bought a code reader but no codes were being reported. I bought a new coil from Neo Brothers for £30 off eBay and it fixed it!! My car is now perfect again!

  • yes bad coils/ spark plugs.

  • @LancerVX i have 03 9-3 linear and there are boost guages.
