those wierd belly movements are actually the mouse wiggling, it wont die until it reaches the stomach area where it will be killed by the stomach acids. the snakes should have constricted it first to kill it though... I have many snakes, and when they swallow dead prey their bellies never make that spazzy movement, it is the mouse....
I used to get these in my yard some years ago. Now the city is too built-up.
It's odd - here's another snake eating its prey tail first. Weird belly movements, too - almost looks like the mouse is still alive and wiggling (even though it clearly isn't). Interesting footage!
I really love Lampropeltis getula californae and wanna have one, too. Can I also feed them with dead baby mice?!
