Issan is Laos over 22 million Laotian live there. Thai took Issan from Laos in 1907.

Isaan people are originally Laotian. They became Thai citizen after the Lao/Thai went to war at each other many years ago. Many provinces located in the Noth and Northeast including Chiangmai, Chiangklang, Nan, Laampang, Nongkhai and many more were part of Lao years ago. I hope this help.

Eesarn is in Thailand , altho wutever others say its part of Thailand. ALtho they seem to think juss Lao people inhabit there is not true , Thai born people have been and is born there also
