    Tet and Hamburger hill kinda sum up the war in a nutshell. We did not lose the battlefield in general, but our "victories" were just pieces of bloodshed in a quagmire. We were trying to defeat the enemy while being restricted from doing the very things that had to be done to beat him. The lesson: fight to win, or don't fight at all. Vietnam, and the movies about it, raise one question in my head: is it futile to uphold any humanity/morality in war? Is it now Kurtz or don't bother?

    US military demoralized and restricted still won.

    "The all world knows that you were defeated and running out of Vietnam."

    VC were beaten. They even sign peace treaties in paris and did not do anything until the US said they were withdrawing and would not defend South VN anymore.

    The VNW was a great example of how our military can: fight guerrillas in the jungle in their country, have low moral, be very leashed, and still win. Its a testament to US military power.
