Southbound Acela train reverse-running thru Old Saybrook, CT station at about 70 mph. Speed limit thru station is now 90 mph according to the sign in the waiting room.

  • I know from railfanning at Kingston station (where the Acela really puts the petal to the metal) that from Providence south there are two tracks for electric locomotives and a third freight track which extends only to Quonset Point. There is a freight siding in Southern Providence (under I-95 exit 16), with a track leading to the port of providence. North of Providence, at least three tracks with sidings near exit 26
