Didn't you notice that even on a small video for their online YouTube account, for a very short piece about some random infomercial products, the two cooking/food preparation ones were demonstrated and talked about by women, while the one involving technology and the other a handyman fix-it kind of product was demonstrated and talked about by a man?

That it's your responsibility to be a "good wife or mother" and do that by living like Martha Stewart, for instance, having a delicious meal waiting on the table for your strapping husband who earned money working all day and your bratty kids, and "here's how you can do that and save money AND 14 seconds of time, which can then be devoted to giving your tables that *extra* shine when you dust them with our technique!" In my life I've only met caucasian women who still think/live in such a way.

Maybe because white women are the main audience for the magazine? It's not quite as bad as it used to be, but Good Housekeeping is a magazine that gives tips and tricks and shit to women on how to cook better, do household chores better, etc. I have yet to meet a black woman who still is living by the sexist 50's mentality of "a woman's place is in the home - she cleans the house and raises the kids, she is subservient and inferior to her husband" - which is what Good Housekeeping is all about
