i know no nothing and droped out of school and still have no education
ok when the device spins it builds momentum yeah kenetic energy. now because of the shaped and physical structure is not symetrical/ or u could say odd shaped with weight at one end. somehow i think this cause the device to become unbalance and transfer energy to the other end, i dont know but i think as the energy transfers to other end at that mid point the the device starts reattle up and down.

@liquidheff2012 isn't it fascinating how the motion seems to "transfer" from a spinning motion to a rocking motion and then to a spinning motion again - only this time in the other direction? it would be great if you could get something like this to play with and to observe closely.
