Yorkshire TV clip about "The Origin of Painting" sound and light / electromagnetic noise / live shadow photography installation by Disinformation - at The Huddersfield Art Gallery, 11 January to 1 March 2003. Special thanks to Robert Hall and Nicola Stephenson. 5,000 people came to see the exhibition. The installation takes its current name from the painting "The Maid of Corinth, or The Origin of Painting" depicted by Joseph "Wright of Derby" in 1782 (and Disinformation's tribute was exhibited at Q Arts, 35 Queen Street, Derby in June 2004, just a few doors from Wright's former home at 26 Queen Street, Derby).

This installation also inspired the dance producton "Luminous" by experimental choreographer Saburo Teshigawara - on which Disinformation worked with the Japanese dance company Karas. The clip features Nicola Stephenson of The Culture Company (who helped finance the exhibition), and the YTV crew used film from Fabrica in Brighton - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-DnH0EU0mc - but also shot footage of their own, which includes the shadow of Huddersfield Art Gallery curator Robert Hall. The footage also features glimpses of "The Analysis of Beauty" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMtz9ciE9M0
