I love this game series and played the SNES Ys III Wonder's from Ys. For a long it was the only Ys game in the US, then we got the anime of Books I and 2 which I got when I was 17, (2004) it's awesome. I finally got to play it once they did a updated DS version in 2008. There is the 6th one for PS2 (2005) which I plan to get oneday. Great review.

I think you got to pay more attention to the first part. ;) The game made a point of telling you were in the land of Esteria in Book 1. Ys is only mentioned as a legend through the first part of the game. Remember the first part of the intro? It says the land "vanished from the face of the planet".
