This video shows one of the DC2N capabilities: RECORD files from a Commodore computer to a tape image, as if they were written to tape.

I initially made a video where I recorded a "Hello World!" BASIC program to SD Card. I must admit it was not so impressive. Then I thought about something more clever than that: Use "Giant Copy 2.0" (thanks enthusi for sharing this tool!) to RECORD a file from disk. I picked a random disk and x-ferred a trained version of "Thomas The Tank Engine" to a tape image.

What GC does is to load individual files from disk to RAM and then records them to tape. I used Turbo Tape to record this game for it is a fast encoding so that it doesn't take the whole day to demonstrate!

  • Great stuff. I use Tapserv to transfer my tape images, though in my experience I next to never have to.

I've made my own documentary on data transfer. Watch COMMODORE 64 DATA TRANSFER WITH C64TPC, STAR COMMANDER AND TAPSERV.
