"the whip in the air in the halter classes, surley this results in the horse throwing his head and constantly noding while being presented,isnt the idea for the horse to present still so judges can judge. can this raised head position which i know is traditional for arabian be achived through the lead rein and contact ."

the whip is a training tool that teaches the horse to hold its head high or low, and when to stretch it's neck out.

I live in Texas, so there aren't really any Arab shows around here, but I love competing against my friends in open quarter horse shows on my Arab :D thanks for the vid, I love how spirited Arabs are ^^

i'm srry , but this slightly annoys me. it's crazy how wired they get those horses at such a young age, and before you say anythig like "i wouldn't know" i ride an arabian mare that was treated like that! she has slightly lost her mind! i love arabians and i have nothing against halter horse people, but the horses should be able to show themselves off!

I looveee arabians. I didn't show in 2006 and was very upset, however, my trainer competed with my horse and won a 5th. Ha, I competed this year in '07 on BSA Jackie O, and gosh I love my horse, but she's a pain, when she starts acting up, she's so ugly. But she's a beauty half arab.
