I've gotta say, when the makers made of point of saying "ZOMG he's in a wheelchair but he's as capable as any marine!", I felt a pang of anger for a society where even fantasy films full of giant blue cats just HAVE to stress their own political correctness.
Blah, There's just too much wrong with it to comment on. I don't know about the american release, but the UK 3d version even gave people motion sickness! :|

They have the technology to transfer entire minds to other organisms, yet they lack the medical science to repair damaged nerves?
You can tell you're in for a shitty film when your suspension of disbelief is fucked over within the first ten minutes.

The case they made for that was that he couldn't afford it. The army colonel says something like "we'll get your legs back - your real legs." Implying it's something that would normally be out of his reach but these rich corporate fucks can do it for you.
Whether you buy it or not, I guess that is really all there is to it. I didn't feel for any character in that movie.
