Dave Virtue from change2E85.com installs an E85 conversion kit into a 2008 Toyota Prius. This video was made spur of the moment on April 15th 2008. The Change2E85 team flew to Los Gatos California to meet with Efuel Corp, the company that is developing earth's first home ethanol system known as the MicroFueler.

  • I can attest to this product. I ran the earlier version of this kit in my '06 Prius for about 12k miles without ANY issue whatsoever (E85 @ $1.00 less)

Being honest however, I did return the unit because it throws off the MPG readout on the computer. This is because the kit is essentially holding the injectors open for milliseconds longer to allow more fuel to enter - essentially lying to the computer making it think it's putting in a regular amount.

Great product for cars without MPG readouts!

  • The mileage readout error appears to be only with Prius. Non-hybrids are accurate.

  • Indeed. It seems that it would have the same affect on any system where the MPG reading is obtained by measuring the injected fuel.

However, this is simply a pet-peave for myself. The system works FLAWlessly. I Highly recommend it to anyone. Just giving my experience as a certified customer.

Have an '88 Pontiac Fiero GT that is next in line for the conversion!
