Monday, March 23, a thief stole more than $600 meant to buy medicine for impoverished residents of Haiti, where a delegation of doctors travels every year to serve thousands of residents. Bernard Ferere, proprietor of Bagel Land on Northeast Fremont St., helped start the medical charity effort on his cafe's countertop. Now he's planning the project's next step.
