Here is how I did to charge my Garmin nuvi 755T with Motorola USB charger (rating 5V, 500mA).

As you can see, reinsert the USB plug when your nuvi's model number appeared at the bottom of the screen.

To accelarate the charging,
1) Change the Display brightness to less than 20%
2) Switch it off
3) Set in HOLD position.

Strage... it should stays in charging/navi mode Your GPS model? Charging using PC or adapter ?

  • HOW TO CHARGE NUVI WITH PC:

1-Connect Nuvi to USB of computer

2-wait until it goes to PC connection mode

3-Eject the USB device on your computer

4-then the Nuvi will be restarting, when you saw the nuvi model number, you have to slide power button on nuvi

5-It should now go to charge mode

  • @shaknakon Yes, the eject will do the tricks :)

  • @bahathir If he stops and restarts his car it will reset to computer mode. I run into this problem all the time.

  • thanks!

  • You don't have to reinsert, you just have to wait till it boots up then hold off switch, then it will trip into the charging screen and in a few seconds, turn the display off.

  • @JohnLedfordKansas Hi JohnLedfordKansas. Got a 765T replacement unit a couple of weeks ago. It's refurbished but I expected that since the 765T is no longer in production. Spent the past several days testing it and pretty happy with this unit so far. The micro usb funtions fine and the battery lasts much longer than it did in my original unit. All problems were addressed. Thanks for the support.

  • @JohnLedfordKansas Sure thing, will do. I'll be mailing it off this weekend and will hear back in a couple of weeks. Let you know by mid August or so how it worked out. I like the features on this model and once this one bug is worked out I'm sure it will suit my needs. Thanks for the support.

  • @SR71BBFLYER Let me know how it works out. I'm interested in customer's thoughts about the company that pays my salary :).
