This cranial smashing, world imploding Underground Interview with Ryan Holiday and Rebellious Truths is about the rise of online media manipulation and its devastating consequences. Holiday is the Director of Marketing for American Apparel and author of the new book Trust Me I'm Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator (http://www.amazon.com/Trust-Me-Lying-...). WATCH THE TRAILER HERE (http://youtu.be/q1e44JsecbE). In his book and this interview, Holiday undoes the curtain of how online news and blogs are manipulated by people like him at the expense of the people. Many consider the internet to be the new great frontier of freedom for information, an oasis amidst a toxic sea of corporate media propaganda. But is it? Holiday blows forth a storm of insider info and shines a spotlight on how political candidates are manufactured online, human psychology is manipulated for page views, and how honest and integrity are all but lost in this digital debacle. No worries, it's not all gloom and doom as he provides many solutions and alternatives to get educated and stop the manipulation from happening to YOU!

Thanks, friend! Basically, now more than ever we must exercise our ability to discern truth out of the hogwash. i never appreciated being force-fed and manipulated by the media. This sets an example for an individual to wake-up and then to step boldly out of their comfort zone and to question the motivation of those in authority in your own career. It's really about waking us up to our own participation in the system and bringing as you said regs they try to keep secret out into the light.

    Point taken.

I feel this video insults people's intelligence. Perhaps I need to concede the average internet junkie is pretty stupid... but who cares if the stupid hordes are manipulated?

I'm more interested in the high caliber students of philosophy and how they are influenced...

I get the feeling these guys are pushing an agenda towards some sort of regulation from government like SOPA PIPA or whatever the hell they are calling it now.

I think you missed the point, because this video doesn't address internet freedom issues- rather it places the focus on the rich, media conglomerates who vastly control information that gets presented to the public. Your comments create mildly insulting distractions. I respect your points abt wiki- but still I find it mischaracterizes the vid...

This video is an obvious propaganda piece against internet freedom... The attack on Wikipedia is such an obvious obtuse myopic oversimplification of a great tool.

Wikipedia deserves more respect from the cock smokers who controlled what we read before it existed.

Wikipedia is real time up to date well sourced reflection of information about everything and anything with the added tool of source discussion and debate over the validity of its content... We've never had this benefit in the past.

The internet is nothing more than a level playing field.

You are free to be an asinine douche all the way to the other extreme of being a noble philosopher.

The key thing here is The internet is the ultimate free market of ideas. People are free to choose what they want to believe and are developing / evolving tools to filter the shit from the gold nuggets.

excellent- thank you so much for sharing this fine interview. I hope it creates incentive for folks to develop discernment in absorbing what the media presents to us. The more I think about it too, I am more than happy to disconnect from the media onslaught of deceit & manipulation- hurrah Ryan Holiday!
