I have this lens & shoot with Nikon D80/D90/D7000 with the Nikon range it is quiet, fast focus & sharp as a tack f8 & above. For the money this is a great lens for the budget conscious photographer. Yeah it is pretty impressive with the lens hood on but absolutely necessary in strong light. Advise buying a good strong steady tripod for those long range shots for wildlife etc. You will not be disappointed with this lens...........trust me!

@WaWoWieWa And the Sigma is hardly any better!!

These lenses are SHIT! Even on low res youtube the gulls were softer than a baby's arse.

1 thing is for sure...Tamron breaks all the records in being S L O W.. amd soft.
test a sigma 150-500... feel the build of the sigma.. 1000% sure the TAMRON crap goes to the first junkyard you can find..

@WaWoWieWa work? You fail, dumbass.
Please take the lens cap off when doing AF testing with extremely low light the camera will severely cap the AF speed in order to catch low contrast focus objects.

Tested it, makes no difference in speed if i'm testing it with the cap on or off aiming straight at a lightbulb.

I'm an Alpha shooter and I'm telling you it does. But, you don't have to believe me. Also, if something is "focusable" it will move faster instead of it hunting and never seeing improvement.

I will make a new video tomorrow ( 2 AM over here now ) covering the autofocus of this lens.
If you have any tips of what i should test please say so, so i can test it.
