I developed a taste for Steely Dan in my early twenties. Shortly after, I asked my Mom if she liked Steely Dan. She started laughing her ass off and said "let me show you something." We went up to her attic and she had EVERY Steely Dan album one could have at the time (from Can't Buy A Thrill to Gaucho) in perfect condition. She told me that when she was twenty, she and her friends would smoke pot, play a record, and just stare at the album cover. They called dibs on who got to turn it over.
