Art of War® Fighting Championship 9
FISTS OF FURY
November 24, 2007
Beijing, China.

This 78kg bout pairs Ole Baguio Laursen (0-2-0) of Denmark versus Liu Guang Yao (0-0-1) of China.

Laursen is a world Muay Thai champion and K-1 veteran, having fought such greats as Buakaw and Andy Sowers. In MMA, Laursen has faced notible fighters, Caol Uno and Genki Sudo. Having made his transition to the MMA ring, Laursen brings his explosive fighting style to Art of War!

Liu Guang Yao is a Sanda expert from Henan Province, the home of China's famed Shaolin Temple. Liu Guang Yao is hungry, coming off a DRAW in his last AOW appearance. His opponent's impressive credentials don't scare him the slightest bit. Watch him bring the fight to Laursen!

Established in 2004, the Art of War® Fighting Championship is Mainland China's first and only professional MMA organization sanctioned by China's central sports administration and features China's top mixed martial arts athletes.

  • I don't think I've ever seen someone get caught in a triangle, then begin to punch their opponent...that was epic.

  • The Danish guy is stronger than the Henan guy, perhaps one weight category difference. Both fighters probably do not start out as a wrestlers, as there are many cases that they could have done locks, arms and legs.

  • lol is that rocky music???

  • i wanna see how well gsp would do in these asian mma competitions

  • OLE!!!!

  • Go Ole! :)

  • @raymitch7410

the dane/filipino/thai outclassed him, weight advantage was 3kg look at the damn VIDEO.

    laursen 78kg

    yao 75kg

do the math. yao was totally outclassed although he did do a lot better than what was expected from him being able to get sweeps, standing back up on his feet and escaping submission attempts early in the round.

his stand up was good but laursen is k-1 world max veteran, not an easy opponent to put out.

all in all it was a good match.

  • @guyiming Hey man, your English is way better than my Chinese, lol. It's interesting that you don't have weight divisions though. The Chinese guy did the best he could, and defended himself well in A LOT of bad situations. The Dane just out muscled him though. It looks like at least a 15kg weight advantage.

  • @raymitch7410 i don't know neuther but in our tradition , there is no weight divisions , but to fit the intetnationale rules , we want to find a way to ......... lol my poor english~~~
