  • Can you do the same thing with sweet potatoes?

  • @SarahBEtv I'm not sure, they are very different plants. Sweet potatoes grow down into the earth while potatoes actually form at and above the level of planting (hence the need to hill potatoes up to ensure good yields). Only one way to know for sure I guess!

  • @StephenHarlow What is bloody bone? A mix of bone meal and blood meal?

  • @alan30189 "Blood and Bone" is a fertiliser commonly available in Australia and NZ. It is exactly as you describe, a mix of dried blood and bone dust with a N:P:K of 6:6:0

  • I did this as well... then after I'd finnished with it i ran over the whole thing with a rotary hoe and transformed the clay underneath! can't lose!!
