I do some amateur astronomy. This is better than I can usually do through one of my telescopes. I''ve seen where people mounted cameras like this on heavy tripods to steady them, and then pluged the USB cable into a laptop to use it as a sort of webcam. Then they just use the zoom function on the camera as they would a telescope and look at the image of the moon, stars, planets on the screen of the laptop.
You should try to view Jupiter with this setup.

@pagamenews ill try looking at Jupiter if winter ever ends snowed today and is going to snow on Friday so if there is ever clear sky's i hope to do this. wish i had a decent tripod one day maybe. thanks for the comment

n thats using a stand.. iv got this camera its very hard to keep it steady. just wish it had a better night shot mode.

@420MilKY i just did some testing with the ir lights and Im kind of disappointed with it. I used ir on my night vision and on an old old camera and it barley picked it up so you probably want one with a 100 ir leds or just use a flash light? you can get them on ebay if you still think of getting them. if you want i could upload the videos i shot of the ir tests
