David Brooks, New York Times opinion columnist, explains the subtle difference between unconscious human behavior and the conscious side.

Hosted by the Aspen Institute, The 2008 Aspen Ideas Festival will engage its participants in a variety of programs, tutorials, seminars and discussion events which together are guaranteed to charge the atmosphere with vibrant intellectual exchange. Think of it as a week-long summer university for the mind -- remarkable lectures and classes across a stimulating array of topics.

  • The society within us and our "thought communities" our social world adds to cognition. The individual thinker, the human universal hard wired view, and the sociology of cognition make up who we are. Love your story about The Swedish Diplomats. I respect and love the Swedish "thought community." There are differences based on nations, cultures, and historical eras. The social mirror is Cooley's Looking Glass Self. The Italian from Ancient Rome thinks differently than the Italian today!

  • I want to study Extraterrestrial sociology and exopolitics (the politics of disclosure).

  • GREAT! Wishes to David Brooks. I am not a Neuro-Specialst - I work only with Neuro-Marketing & Communication :-)))
