Cult leader Johnny Robertson harasses REAL churches all over the place. But when the tables are turned on HIM, it becomes a whole different matter...

On the evening of June 1st, 2008, I confronted Johnny Robertson of the Martinsville Church of Christ with some questions as he was going in to do his live TV show at WGSR Star 39 in Reidsville, North Carolina.

This followed an exchange over the previous few days, during which Mr. Robertson announced he was going to criticize me on his show and he took some glee in implying that I would not debate him.

So I showed up at the station, with my Bible and video camera, and offered him the opportunity to debate me live on the air, that night. He turned me down.

I also asked him some questions...

1. How is what he is doing giving devotion to Christ and showing the love of Christ to a world without Him?

2. Could he point to a single verse of scripture that proves that if someone is not baptized, that he or she is going to Hell?

He could not answer these questions. But I gave him the chance.

Here is the video of what happened.

Bear in mind that Robertson and his cult have been doing EXACTLY the same thing to decent, innocent folks all across the area and even in other towns throughout the country. For once, someone confronted HIM with not just the same tactics, but also with SERIOUS theological questions. Which he could not answer. He just dodged and spun and hemmed and hawed... and ran away.

And for a number of reasons I've chosen to accentuate it with selected sound clips from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

Visit my blog: http://theknightshift.blogspot.com for more about Robertson and his twisted sect.

  • Where it says in the Bible you have to be baptized in order to enter the kingdom of heaven: John 3:3-5 "Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mothers womb and be born?

Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

  • "Water" is the water of birth, the water of the womb of the earthly mother. Jesus is teaching and correctly that a person must be born of flesh and then of spirit.

"Water baptism" is a mere work that brings no righteousness or justification before God with it.

  • kwerky, do you really want to hold to the position that the last part of Mark is not apart of the Bible? that my friend is a steep slope. I'd like to debate you regarding baptism.

  • The earliest manuscripts do not have the last several verses of Mark. They only appear in manuscripts dated 2 and 3 centuries later. There is also considerable internal textual evidence that those verses were a later addition.

    So there.

  • that is simply not true, they are in 3 of the 4 major greek text which are used to put together the english Bible any textual scholar will tell you that there is good evidence for Mark 16. Don't abuse a small detail in order to rid yourself of what the Bible says please.

  • If you are referring to the so-called "Textus Receptus", then you are in trouble 'cuz that was one of the slip-shoddiest pieces of scholarship in the history of anything. Erasmus only had some very late manuscripts to work from... and he was in a rush to translate because he was trying to win a contest!

Again, the last verses of Mark are in high probability late additions and not from the original text.

  • @DeanTheMarine baptism is an indication or a representation that u are truly saved.

  • You didn't prove anything

  • the COC,,does absolutley nothing,,your right chris,,they have no ministries, dont pray over the sick,no evangelism..condemm people to hell when they are on their deathbed,,totally useless religion.

  • johnny thinks he sshould be exhalted that hes even talking to this guy..lol for his precious time..a christian cant be baptised? oh really johnny??in acts 10 they werent baptised and they spoke in tounges,,only christians speak in tounges.

  • your doctrine is false johnny, thats why your church is not in the bible.

  • @DeanTheMarine you cant debate,,the coc is false doctrine.

  • @kwerky excellent work brutha!!bout time somebody exsposed this cult.

  • There was lots of question out there to solve

  • What a Christian is supposed to do is tell the good news; if you are harping on him, and at least he brought scripture on his behalf, how much less should I consider you, not having any word from the bible for him? Your merely asked questions; that is a debate. You don't come to spread Christ's word, you just wanted to argue. If you want to correct him, show him where he is wrong form the bible. But oh: then you would be doing exactly what he is doing. So therefore, how can I call him wrong?
