A test the whole world can take...

It's a breathtaking concept -- but for the OECD, it's a very real way of finding out how well-prepared today's students are to participate in society. If you're not quite sure what PISA is or does, and you've got about 12 minutes to spare, grab a comfortable chair. This video will help you to understand why the OECD's number-crunchers trigger such intense debate about the state of education around the world every time they release the results of the latest PISA survey.

You'll learn a lot—and you won't be tested on any of it!

  • Yarr!

  • school systems that helps in helping students the first time around do much BETTER than those where teachers knoiw they can, if necessary, drill the same material, year after year, into the heads of the same struggling students. Point to be noted!!!

  • Feels agenda driven to me...

  • Maybe I'm being pedantic, but this is an educational video. While PISA is an acronym as stated, OECD is not, since it cannot be pronounced as a word.

  • @Lidia333 yea and Im proud to be part of that change as a teacher :)

  • ohh

  • :) I am proud to tell that Mexico is already working to do better in 2012, though I believe the real change will be noticed until 2015 if we don´t give up and if everyone trust the new policies.
