DANCE DON'T CHANCE

EXT. DENNIS'S DRIVEWAY- DAY

DENNIS MAINES, JOY BLISS, WAYNE BURKS, ROSIE WITTER, JOSHUA COLLINS, and TINA BLUNT walk out of Dennis's house.

Wayne, Rosie, Joshua and Tina are all Joy's friends, and Dennis does not like them.

ROSIE
You guys, tonight is going to be so much fun.

WAYNE
Super fun!

DENNIS
Guys, just get in the car.

JOY
Dennis! Be nice, they're my friends!

DENNIS
Whatever. Let's just get this over with.

They all get into his car (Dennis and Joy in the front, Wayne and Rosie in the middle, and Joshua and Tina in the back)

Everyone buckles their seat belts except for Dennis. Joshua peers over the back seat at him suspiciously.

JOSHUA
Dennis, are you wearing a seat belt?

DENNIS
No, seat belts are for chums!

JOSHUA
Well if you want to drive then you might want to, Ahem, buckle up.

DENNIS
Ugh, fine.

He buckles up his seat belt and starts driving. He takes out his phone and begins to text while driving.

JOY
Dennis! Don't text and drive, that's dangerous!

Joy takes the phone out of his hands.

DENNIS
You are no fun. You need to drink with me to loosen up.

WAYNE
No way, mister! Impaired driving is illegal and dangerous. There are much better ways to have fun.

DENNIS
Yeah, like smoking weed.

TINA
Marijuana counts as impaired driving too, Dennis!

DENNIS
Shut up, Blunt!

ROSIE
Is it just me, or are we going really fast?

DENNIS
We're not.

ROSIE
It certainly seems like we are. You know if you do things like speeding or drag racing you are bound to get caught at some point.

DENNIS
Arggggg!
INT. PROM- NIGHT

Two students are standing at the voting ballot for prom king and queen.

STUDENT 1
I'm going to vote Tina Blunt, 'cause she actually knows how to have fun without doing stupid things like drinking and doing drugs.

STUDENT 2
I'm voting for Joy Bliss, 'cause if it wasn't for her, her boyfriend would have crashed his car and killed us all over a stupid text.

CUT TO:

Everyone is standing on the stage except for Dennis, along with NEIL GOSSARD. They are separated into boys and girls.

TEACHER (V.O.)
Well here are all of our prom king and queen nominees. And the winners are... Neil Gossard and Joy Bliss!

CUT TO:

Dennis is sitting at a table by himself, with his arms crossed.
