@KabaneTheChristian Oh wow!! Do you have a copy of the picture? At our Church, we have several icons that myrrh. I can always see the myrrh, but I can't always smell it. Now this is a bit off topic, but I have a quick question. Now we believe that through Adam and Eve's sin, death came into the world. However, it is clear from science that lifeforms, like dinosaurs, lived and died before humans came into existence. If there was death before humanity, how does this fit into our theology?
Hey brother! I wasn't going to throw pearls before swine, but will toss them to you! We received a relic of St. Anthony the Great in 2010. My priest was alone in the church, not vested in any way, and he took a snapshot of the relic. When it was developed the vested arm of St. Anthony was resting on the relic (not cut off from his body, the picture simply only caught his arm.) Father showed it to the whole church. It was incredible.
@KabaneTheChristian Out of curiousity what did you witness in 2010? I myself have seen icons myrrh before my own eyes. I think if atheists are ever going to believe in God, they will have to experience something like this for themselves. Only an encounter with God will make them believe in my opinion.
And yes, you have been blocked. Your condescending rhetoric, your complete ignorance of the Council of Nicea, and your foul language combined to produce a block. One day, I suspect you'll chuckle at the fervor with which you promoted the secular gospel, whether you actually leave secularism or not. Despite all of this, I sincerely wish you well. Have a good day.
Here's your problem. You came on my channel thinking you were going to baffle me with your arguments. You haven't. I've heard your arguments before. They are not new to me in the least. When you are shown up as an ignoramus, you don't know what to do so you just get snarkier. How about you get your butt off the chair, stop doing google research, and maybe pick up some serious scholarship on these subjects? Secular or Christian, I don't care, just do some actual reading!
No, "this shit" has been affirmed by some academics, but certainly not all. Have you ever read the massive works of scholars like Kitchen, Hoffmeier, Long, or Provan? All of these are credentialed scholars who have written arguing in favor of the substantial historicity of the Old Testament text. You are taking a tack from the left of OT scholarship and trying to make it appear as if everyone agrees about it. They don't.
The Nicene Synod didn't even have anything to do with the canon of either Testament. So, no, it is you who have been "duped." Read any history of the Council of Nicea by any historian, Christian or not, and you will find this information.
As for the New Testament, we have manuscripts before the Council of Nicea which match the post-Nicene manuscript tradition, so your claim is demonstrably false. Your claim about the Old Testament canon is also ridiculous. Josephus, a Jewish historian of the late first century, tells us what the OT canon was, and it's what the Orthodox canon is today. The Orthodox also regard ten additional books as venerable, but not on the same level as the others.
I like how you can speak really clearly for someone your age. It kind of reminds of an apologists, defending orthodox christianity.
