Nothing But Lies [A Jemi Story] Episode Twelve

Later.
*Demi walks into class 10 minutes late*
Teacher: Miss Lovato, nice of you to join us. Is there a reason you were late?
Demi:*Shows her the slip the nurse gave her*
Teacher: Very well, why don’t you take a seat? There’s one beside Joe and one beside Tony. You can choose
[a/n: Tony is part of the popular group, but Demi has never talked to him before and doesn’t know anything about him.]
Demi:*hesitates and reluctantly sits beside Tony*
Tony:*smiles at her* Hey.
Demi: Hi…*hides her face with her hair and holds onto the edges of her chair until her knuckles turn white*
Tony: *watches her* Are you ok?
Demi:*nods and reaches for her pencil*
*her sleeve rolls up revealing a blood stained bandage, and bruises around it*
Demi:*Quickly covers it up*
Tony:*Saw it* Wow…*takes her arm and rolls the sleeve up a bit; he traces his hand over the scars lightly* Are you ok?
Demi:*Winces but nods, embarrassed*
Joe:*Looking at Demi’s hand in Tony’s jealous*
Demi: *pulls her arm away quickly and pretends to take notes*
Tony: What happened?
Demi” Why would you care?
Tony: Why wouldn’t I?
Demi: Cause you’re a popular.
Tony: That doesn’t mean I’m heartless.
Demi:*looks up at him and raises an eyebrow* It doesn’t?
Tony: No *looks into her eyes*
Demi:*looks back into his*
Tony: *leans in slowly*
*The Bell Rings*
Demi:*Turns her head, gathers her stuff and rushes out of the room as fast as she can.*
Joe: *Walks up to Tony* What the hell was that? First you were holding hands and then you almost kissed her?!
Tony: *looks at him and smirks* She may be a nerd, but she’s HOT. Why do you care anyways?
Joe: *lying* That’s just nasty, why would you touch that loser?
Tony: *shrugs and walks out*
Joe:*sighs and leaves*
~End of the Day~
*With Nick, Selena and Demi walking home*
Selena: Kay, well this is my house. See you guys later. *Walks into the house*
*Nick and Demi keep walking*
Nick: So your coming back to my house right?
Demi: If you want me to.
Nick: Course, your welcome anytime.
Demi: *Sighs* Well I don’t have anywhere else to stay; I can’t go back to the orphanage, Derek might be there.
Nick: I hope you don’t mind my asking, but who is Derek? And what did happen to you? All I know is one night Joe left and came back with a little girl. He told me to take care of her then he left again. All he said was that you were in the hospital, and a couple of days later he came back with you…
Demi:*Feels comfortable around him and tells him everything; before she knows it she’s crying*
*They arrive at the Jonas house*
Nick:*hugs her tight and mumbles into her hair* Shhh it’s okay, he can’t hurt you anymore. I’m here for you.
Joe: *Brings his car into the driveway, he sees them and gets out of the car*
Nick&Demi:*hear the car door slam shut and turn to see who it is*
Demi:*Escapes from Nick’s arms and quickly wipes away her tears*
Joe: *Walks up to them and looks at her* What’s up?
Demi:*Shakes her head and walks inside*
Joe:*About to follow her*
Nick:*Stops him* Leave her alone. After everything she’s been through, you make her go through more pain, and now your trying to make it look like you care? Just back off *Walks in and follows Demi to the guest room*
Laura:*Waiting for them* Yay horsey! *jumps on Nick’s back*
Nick: *laughs* Hey Laura. *looks at Demi sitting on the bed* You okay?
Demi:*Nods and stands up* I think I’m going to go for a walk…
Nick: Want me to come with?
Demi: *shakes her head and slightly smiles* Have fun being a horsey. *leaves*
*With Demi; At the beach walking along the shore*
Demi:*her phone rings; she picks it up* Hello?
???:Demi?
Demi:*screams*
