@Chickiee2 Yeah, I won't believe it until I see it.

Have you ever seen a civil air patrol plane?

@LAZARSHOW McDonnell Douglas did not become Boeing, they were bought out by Boeing. The 717 was originally the MD 95, the last follow on design to the DC 9, and a superior aircraft to anything Bullshit, I mean Boeing, ever built.

At least QantasLink in Australia aren't retiring the 717. In fact they have orders for two more YAY!

yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaa its airtran

well its going to southwest in a little bit
-
@Cessna154 Learned Southwest plans to sell them.
-
@Chickiee2 honestly I see Southwest doing what Delta did to Northwest's DC-9 30/40's and just putting a sticker on em till they run into a D check. Gary already said they don't see a real use for them as they operate about as expensive as the 737-500 and Southwest is getting ready to retire those too. We will see.

@LAZARSHOW No, its made by Boeing and has different kind of cockpit and engines than any MD series aircraft.

Isn't the 717 just the MD-80 after McDonnell Douglas became Boeing?
Very nice!!

I think it's a shame that they're retiring the 717s (just in general) they are great for high cycle rates and they look interesting.
