  • I have a 2005 f350 dually. My truck starts rough in a cold day and blows a lot of white smoke. It sounds like it misses. When the truck is plugged it it helps it on the start. When the truck is all warmed up and take it for a drive all of a sudden misses. I have lost power on it too. I dont burn oil at all. In a hot summer day my truck starts a little rough too. A mechanic told me once that I have to send the computer on top of the motor in and have it reprogram. What do u think I should do

  • @imoraless I think you have either a FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) issue or a bad injector or two. You just need to have a diagnostic tool hooked up to find out.

  • @powerstrokehelp No it actually is a little full. lol And I forgot to mention that its a 6L

  • @kyfordfan Being over full will cause this issue, but it has to be a bunch over. We made a mistake and put 19q in a truck that we had just installed a remanufactured engine and thought that it was a problem with the engine. Every body was all over it for two days, Customer raising hell needing the truck. Scott comes out from the office and checks the oil thinking it is a different truck. We drained some oil out and it ran perfect.

  • what if you have a small amount of blue smoke on startup?

  • @kyfordfan I wouldn't sweat it unless the engine is consuming oil. Do you have to add oil between oil changes.
