I have '07 RSV Factory & averaged around 43mpg over the last year, but I've just picked up new Akapovic cans, race air-box conversion kit, 520 chain & sprocket conversion, PCIII, and I intend to get the fuel mapping dialed in on the dyno to take advantage of the mods, so I expect that my fuel economy will suffer.
A friend has the '04 Falco with Akra cans, PCIII & dyno tuned & gets around 35mpg.
Maintenance costs: 1000km service cost me $189US, not bad, but I've done all recent services myself.

The rear cowl is removable and a seat can be fitted.
My RSV Factory came with both from the dealer when I bought it new, although I've only used the rear seat a couple times...this bike is not really designed for pillions.

I don't know much about bikes, but ti has pretty good acoustic properties which might be what gives it that sweet sound.
Some lower cost drum symbols are made of ti.
