* * * THANK YOU FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL VIDEO AND THE GIFT OF MUSIC THAT GIVES ALL AS PATIENTS INFORMATION AND HOPE! I had been struggling with pain for years beginning in 2000 and in October of 2008 the pain and inflammation became permanent. Now I struggle to live a normal life. I medicate with anti-inflammatory drugs, pain meds, and exercise. To anyone reading this who has AS please FIGHT BACK WITH APPROPRIATE MEDICATIONS, EXERCISE, A SUPPORTIVE PHYSICIAN, AND GOD BLESS YOU SASSYSINGER81! * * *

@hartsy50 Not all of us always have a high ESR(sed rate) and it can not be used alone as a lab.

A blood test to check the sedimentation rate will quickly determine if a young person has AS, even if no pain is present, YET. My doctor told me when i was 17, that I would be 'walking with a cane" by the time I was 40 . I had both hips replaced at 40, and if it wasn't for modern medicine, I WOULD NEED a cane.

This is a great video! I am 22 and have AS and have many health problems. This video nailed it! When someone ask's me what AS is I believe I'll just send them this link instead of having to explain. Thank you! STAND TALL

I have my best buddy with this disease. I feel its one's belief which can make one overcome the most difficult of options. And my buddy is a fighter for sure. Has resisted remicade and still taken the pain head on and fighting it on with all the strength. Hope this pain goes away for all.

@animaldreams111 The song is called, Just Stand Up. It was done by a group of women to support cancer patients, but I thought it was appropriate for this project as well. Have a nice day.
