A walkthrough mostly meant to test my new PC to TV converter. This is the DOS version of Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, being played on a Windows 95 laptop. I would like to mention I went through loads of pain just to get this stupid video uploaded.
Firstly, it took me forever to find an efficient way of recording that stupid laptop. My GameBridge wasn't agreeing with the device, so I decided to try my hand at my other recorder, meant for VHS recordings and such. It worked out well, and I went to edit it. Lo and behold, neither Vegas 6 nor Movie Maker liked the codec. So, I had to go download Windows Media Encoder and convert it, which took FOREVER. After I finally did that, I went to edit it through Vegas, so I could crop out the borders. And of course, it finds its way to mess it up, so I'm stuck with Movie Maker, and I can't take out the borders. So, I sync up the audio, and it LOSES SYNC halfway through the video. So I FINALLY sync that part up, and it finally becomes ready to upload. Geez, this pain is almost not worth it. And yes, I know it's bright, but I seriously couldn't take it anymore.
Now, as for the walkthrough itself, this version is a little bit different from the Windows version. It has MIDI music, different cursors, and options are done through keyboard commands instead of the Windows GUI (Alt-Q is quit, M is toggle music, T is toggle text, Q shows various aspects about the game, and Alt puts the game in fast mode). There are also some minor changes here and there, like how some backgrounds have moving parts that are stationary in the Windows port. Now, I know you might find it more logical to just use DOSBox or ScummVM, but I personally like it the best when it's being played off the executable. Plus, I wanted you to hear what it sounded like on my old synthesizer.
I have very little to say about most of this walkthrough. This is the third time I've walkthrough'd this game, so is there really anything I need to say that hasn't been said?
By the way, this is being recorded off an HP OmniBook 800CT with Windows 95 installed on it.
Another thing, this only applies to the MSDOS version. Sometimes when you start the game, there is a coming soon section, which only features an animation for Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise.

The Junior Adventures logo goes fast like its later games? Neat!

@legoking831
Are you gonna do Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise & Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon (DOS versions)?

Another strange thing is, when I played the DOS version on ScummVM, at 8:26 when Putt-Putt says "WHOAAA!" after flattening his tires you can hear a "deflating" sound effect (like in the Windows version), but it doesn't show up here for some reason.

@JuniorAdventurer Yeah, I did notice the faster tempo when actually played in a real DOS system or DOSBox; when I play the DOS version on ScummVM, the music plays at the exact same tempo as the Windows version (though the music sounds a bit higher-quality, and sounds WAY more impressive depending on your sound settings; I played it using CoreAudio on my MacBook and the music was FANTASTIC.)

@legoking831 It sounds exactly the chip used in both my 486 and Pentium laptop, an OPL3, for the laptop, it's an SBPRO2, for the 486, it's a SB16.

@JuniorAdventurer Yeah, the game runs a little faster in regular DOS. I don't know what that's about at all.
I think my sound card is very similar to the one used in DOSBox; I'd have to check.

Is it just me, or do the graphics look a bit fast? The music sounds like it's playing at a faster rate as well, but maybe it's different when not running the game from ScummVM like I'm used to doing.
What sound card is on your laptop, by the way? The music sounds very nice, almost like a higher-quality version of the Windows release's music.
