"I before E except after C" is a spelling rule many native English speakers were taught in school.

  • @paradoxymoronic yep, i like to see my goal in "not being noticed as a german when talking to american/british people" and that usually works=) i think...

thx a lot and all the best to you, too.

My french, dutch and spanish are a lot further from perfect then my english :D

  • @YeeSoest Haha. Perfection is a fantastic goal, if you have an eternity to work on it (:-|). By the way, I was just messing with you with my previous comment. I wish you the best on your English learning... I'm working on a few languages myself and know exactly what you are going through :)

  • @paradoxymoronic Yeeeaahh...well, grammar doesn´t look that stupid when done INCORRECTLY !

thx for the help on my long way to perfection:)

  • @YeeSoest You mean, "spelled incorrectly."

  • i don´t really know why...but english is not even my mother tongue and yet every single word looks miserably stupid when spelled wrongly:

Sceince, recieve, beleive...you don´t need a rule for that!

  • I am glad that I grew up learning English as my first language. I still have trouble with it from time to time.

Spanish is a much simpler language.
