I constructed my rotary trommel tumbler from two sizes of expanded metal. Both sizes are a full sheet rolled into a cylinder 4' wide and 2.5' (8'/PI) in diameter. Chips are sorted into 3 sizes, fine, coarse and oversized shards, which fall out of the slightly lower open end. 4 or 8 (stacked 2 high) 4'x'4'x2' bins fit nicely under the frame. Or, a dump trailer can be driven beneath. Capacity is around 1 ton/hour. Which works well with my Vermeer 1250a chipper.
