  • he is medium pace. not genuine quickie like flintoff.

  • He was a 82-3mph genuine swing bowler with the ability to bowl some quick spells at times. Any footage after 1985 of him bowling is generally when he was all washed up after a back injury.

  • This was '82. I know he'd slowed down by 85, but 82, he was in his prime. not quick though. medium pace like Kapil Dev but not tearaway like other all rounders of his era like Imran or Hadlee.

  • Hadlee wasn't quick either btw.

  • Was ABC also covering this Test match? coz. there is another video with different commentators.

  • I was only a few months old during this, my dad would have been watching this those, with me right beside him in the crib.

  • classic beefy

  • when Hadlee started out, he could be frighteningly quick. Check out the video of his 10 wicket haul against England in New Zeland in 1978(?) on Youtube. You'll get an idea of how quick he was (definitely around 90 mph). Even while near retirement in 1990, he could bowl pretty quick, probably 86-88 mph. Check out his 5-wkt haul against the Aussies in 1990. Both are posted by "cougarcricket"

  • owned, botham strikes again, he was such a good player
