Children exploited in Cambodian building boom - 28 Jun 08

Cambodia is one of southeast Asia's poorest countries, and that poverty has forced many parents to take their children out of school and send them to work.

But the country is experiencing something of a construction boom.

And that means many children are ending up on building sites or in factories, where the work is dirty and dangerous.

Fauziah Ibrahim reports from Battambang province, where hundreds of children are now risking their health and their lives, working in brick kilns.

I don't get what is so wrong here. For an underdeveloped economy where the majority of the population are youths and where formal education is abysmal and largely inaccessible, isn't this actually a good thing? Are you saying that Western Industrial Revolution did not see the use of any child labor? Come on, come clean with it. Cambodia is in the midst of its industrialization, the same stage of development Europe and the US underwent in the late 1800s. If the conditions are the same, it's OK.

In all this game, the devil is losing and at the end will be accused of everything because GOD don’t want any rivals. Conclusion: live at the full in the freedom of GOD (praying in a right form, following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible - keeping the 10 commandments - including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.) instead of in the incapacity and limited power of devil because he is just a temporary puppet. Jesus Christ is our savior and our hope!
