It was both historical and hysterical. Maybe they should have chosen something a little more up-tempo. It seems better here than it did live. Kind of fell flat at the time. Bruce was doing a high-energy show , and this just didn't fit.Maybe they should have saved Mac for "When the Saints Go Marching In". Don't miisunderstand. I love Dr. John. This particular song just didn't fit into the middle of this show very well. His own set earlier was great.

I have been to the last 26 Jazz Fests. I have spent half of a year of my life there. I still can't decide if this was the very best performance ever or the show in 2006. This tune was classic, but Bruce was right. This groove is too slow for Jersey white boys to handle. New Orleans cats would be all over this.

I volunteer for the Jazz & Heritage Foundation at Jazzfest and word is that this concert was the biggest crowd ever recorded for any Jazzfest concert since it's inception in 1970!! Guestimate is between 107,000 & 108,000 people, all who loved every minute of it! Thanks Mr. Springsteen! You did right by New Orleans, yet again!
