The presentation is hosted by Washington State Emergency Management and conducted by Mr. Stuart Fraser from New Zealand's GNS Science and Massey University Joint Centre for Disaster Research. Mr. Fraser has spent a month in Japan this past year evaluating the successes and areas for improvement for tsunami evacuation including vertical evacuation based on the M9.0 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11th. Washington State's approach to tsunami vertical evacuation, Project Safe Haven, will also be presented. More information on Project Safe Haven can be found at www.facebook.com/projectsafehaven.
