Luke the German Shepherd dog (the GSD featured in this video with the traditional markings) was up for adoption (he is now being trained to assist the blind, if he flunks then he will be trained to help the disabled, and if he flunks that then hopefully I'll get him back. Essentially nothing is known about his history because he was abandoned at an animal shelter with no information anonymously at night. Luke is estimated to be about 1 to 2 years old. He seems to be house broken and responds to the name Luke though we dont really know what his name is. Since he responds to Luke; we call him Luke. There is a small adoption fee to cover shots, neutering and other health-related expenses. He just recently received his shots, ID chip and is about to be neutered. He likes and does well with dogs of all sizes, cats and people. He seems to get along well with other types of animals. He seems to be friendly and sociable with no apparent signs of aggression. Though if pushed he will stand up for himself. He loves companionship and attention. I feel he would probably do real good in a family with kids, a couple or someone that needs/wants a companion dog. His appearance would probably be enough to keep away most criminals, however he shows no real signs of aggression so he would probably not make a good physical guard dog, but I feel thats a good thing because hes likely not to be a liability. At this time he doesnt have much training but seems to do well with training as most German shepherds do. He seems to be intelligent. When I first got him he acted as if he may have been occasionally slightly physically abused as he would cower and cry sometimes with sudden movements or touch that might be considered dominant or aggressive. He seems to be recovering well psychologically from the apparent physical abuse. There is no physical evidence of abuse that I can see. He does have some minor hair loss at one tip of the ear that was probably from being left outside for long periods of time and being bitten by flies. The hair is growing back and will probably look normal soon. He is happy, slightly manic, loves attention/socialization/company but sometimes a little shy though usually sociable. This dog is in the greater Cincinnati area; Ohio. Luke makes friends easily.
